At A.O. Construction, we get excited when we get the chance to share progress updates for our Central Florida projects.
At the start of January, we began a project to build the new Jarrett-Gordon Lincoln Dealership in Winter Haven. So far, we’ve completed demolition of the existing building, site work to make the ground level, and installation of a new concrete foundation and fire-rated block wall.
In February, we shared with you an update on our progress, and now, we’re back with another quick update on how the project is going.
First up is a picture of the exterior framing for the building. We’ve used 14G metal studs with wood frames where the doors are going to be put in.
This picture shows the top track of the light-gauge metal framing. The red iron is the main structural steel for the building, and the ones pictured are called Z purlins. They provide the main support for the roof, which will be applied in the next two weeks.
Next up is a picture of the lower roof framing system. The roof drops a little over the front of the building, so we’re using the same Z purlins and steel to provide support for the roofing system when it is installed.
In this picture we can see the stub up for the plumbing and electrical. This area will be the bathrooms when completed. You’ll notice that the concrete is slightly recessed in this area. This allows for proper drainage once we install the floor drain.
Finally, this is the additional roof and exterior wall framing. The front of the building does not have any metal framing; this is because, when it is completed, it will be floor to ceiling glass. So we’re leaving it open until the glass installation starts, which we estimate to begin in July.
This project began on January 1 of this year, and we anticipate we’ll be finished in early November of this year. No matter how big or small the project, A.O. Construction always provides the highest quality work with the quickest possible turnarounds.
