Back in December of last year, A.O. Construction started work on a project for Dundee CGA, one of the largest fresh fruit cooperatives in the Florida citrus industry. Now, we’re just about finished with the site work and building pad.
The project involves site work as well as constructing a 60,000-square-foot pre-engineered metal building from Dean Steel Buildings out of Fort Meyers. We partnered with Larson’s Grading and Paving to help us complete the site work.
The building will be used as warehouse space and will feature new electric and a new sprinkler system. Once finished, Dundee CGA will be leasing the space to Pratt Industries, the fifth-largest corrugated packaging company in the USA and the world’s largest privately-held producer of 100% recycled containerboard.
Let’s bring you up to speed on our progress.
First up we have these pictures showing the building pad where the new building will be constructed. It will tie into the existing metal buildings.
The yellow highlighted area in this photo shows where we’ll be putting a new road for firetruck access. It will go around three sides of the building.
The area highlighted in blue in this image is where we enlarged the existing retention pond to accommodate the addition of the new building.
We’re almost done with the site work, building pad, and underground storm system. Our next step will be to form, pour, and finish the concrete slab. That slab will be more than 1,200 yards of concrete! We’re on track to complete this project by May of this year.
