Is there anything better than the smell newly finished construction?
Last December, A.O. Construction started to build a pre-engineered metal building for Dundee CGA.
The building will be used for warehouse purposes, and will include an electric system and a sprinkler system. Dundee CGA will be leasing the completed building to Pratt Industries. Pratt Industries is the nation’s fifth-largest corrugated packaging company and the world’s largest privately-held producer of 100% recycled containerboard.
In our most recent update, we were nearly done with the site work, which was done in partnership with Larson’s Grading and Paving, as well as the building pad. We also put in a road around the building for firetruck access. Since then, we’ve made great progress, and we’re proud to announce the project is now complete! Let’s take a look at how everything turned out.
Let’s start with the completed exterior, which is looking pretty sharp! Eagle-eyed readers might notice two different colors in some of the pictures; this color change is where the existing metal building ties into the new one.
As a part of this project, we enlarged the existing retention pond to accommodate the new building.
The interior is also complete with lighting and markings on the floor for organization. To create the floor, we poured more than 1,200 yards of concrete!
Dundee CGA is one of the largest fresh fruit cooperatives in the Florida Citrus Industry, harvesting more than 10,000 acres of citrus statewide. This is a 60,000-square-foot pre-engineered metal building manufactured by Dean Steel Buildings out of Fort Myers. It ties into an existing metal building at the site.
