We’re on a roll in Davenport, working on a project for one of our repeat customers.
Back in the start of June, A.O. Construction started a project to build a pre-engineered metal building (PEMB) for Jarrett Gordon Ford in Davenport. This is our second project with them after building a new Lincoln Dealership in Lakeland, and we’re thrilled to be partnering with them once again.
The PEMB is supplied by Nucor Building Systems, and will be used as a heavy-duty truck service center once completed. It will consist of 19 service bays, 3,000 square feet of interior buildout, and an upstairs structural steel mezzanine for parts storage.
In our last update, we were just starting in on the first stage of the project, preparing for and pouring the slab. Now, we’re back with another update to see our progress so far.
After roughing in plumbing under the slab, installing the rebar and wire mesh, and putting in the yellow vapor barrier, the slab is formed and we’re ready to pour concrete.
We’ve also roughed in the electrical conduit under the slab.
We’ve set the anchor bolts for the PEMB on the column pad footer and installed the rebar mat.
We’re also installing an underground storm drain.
We have now finished pouring the concrete slab.
We’ve also started erecting the PEMB. So far, the columns have been stood and tied in with eave girt, the end walls have been erected, and the wall girts have been installed in the end walls. From here, our next step will be to install wall girts and trusses.
We started this project June 1, and we expect to finish by this December for a nice, quick turnaround.
