Heads up Winter Haven, downtown locations are a hot commodity and A.O Construction just got started on a project that’s bound to get some attention. Upper Crust Pizza, an artisanal pizza kitchen, is taking shape at 362 Third St. NW next to The Social Cocktail Lounge.
In the first phase of the project, we’ll be cutting up the existing concrete slab so we can reroute the plumbing to the new footprint and tie it into the existing drainage system. The existing building will be developed into three units, one of which will be the home of Upper Crust Pizza. Let’s take a look at our progress so far as we work on the beginning stages of the project.
Here you can see the new plumbing layout for the location, giving you an idea of where we’ll be installing sinks and bathrooms.
These pictures show the drainage for the third unit of the building. The connection point for the sewer is at the back of the existing building. We had to trench the drain pipe through all three units, and we stubbed up the piping in the two other units for future use.
These photos show the penetration through the existing wall from the interior and exterior. From here, we’ll start the underground, where we will tie into the existing sewer this week.
Above, you can see the exterior of the building from the front and side, plus the existing mural on the side of the building.
Finally, we have a picture showing the conduit being installed in the trench. The meter is located at the back of the building where the drain is being located, so we utilized the trench to get power to all three units.
We started this project January 22, and we expect to finish by the end of March. How is that for a quick turnaround!
