Hilltop Church’s Roof Now Taking Shape

A.O. Construction is back with new updates on our project for Winter Haven’s Hilltop Church. We’ve partnered with Springer Construction to build them a new steel structure and standing seam roof. The building is a Pre-Engineered Metal Building (PEMBS) made by Dean Steel Buildings, with the roof supplied by McElroy Roofing Systems. We’ll be erecting the building and installing the roof in-house.

PEMBs have all their components manufactured at a factory, and they’re then shipped to a construction site to be assembled. This allows them to be built quickly and affordably, without sacrificing on quality or durability. Plus, they’re highly adaptable to a variety of different uses and designs.

Since our last post, we’ve started installing the roof, and we’re making great progress. Let’s check out some pictures of how things are shaping up.

We’ve installed the steel I-beam on the end wall.

The Z purlins are now installed at the eave.

In preparation to install the standing seam roof, we’re installing the banding.

With the standing seam roof panels ready for installation, we started unbundling them.

We first rolled out the insulation, then began installing the standing seam roof panels.

At this point, more than half the roof is sheeted.

We began setting the steel for this project on June 17. We’re making good progress, and expect to be complete by the end of August.
