At AO Construction we love being able to work with customers in diverse industries throughout Central Florida. Our latest project is for Dundee CGA in Dundee, one of the largest fresh-fruit cooperatives in the Florida citrus industry. On more than 10,000 acres across the state, the Dundee CGA harvests a variety of citrus as well as blueberries and peaches.
The project consists of the site work and construction of a 60,000-sqaure-foot Pre-Engineered Metal Building. The Pre-Engineered Metal Building is manufactured by Whirlwind Steel Buildings in Houston. This new Pre-Engineered Metal Building will serve as warehouse space for Dundee CGA.
We broke ground on this project on October 9, and we’ve teamed up with Larson’s Grading and Paving, based out of Bartow, to help us complete the site work portion of the project. Let’s take a look at some photos of our progress so far.
The addition of the Pre-Engineered Metal Building means we are required to increase the size of the retention pond. Here you can see our crew working on expanding the pond. Because we’re limited on space, we’re increasing the depth of the retention pond to 20 feet.
The excess dirt we remove for the retention pond will be used throughout the rest of the site for things like a new road. We’ll also be using excess dirt for the metal building pad.
Once the site work is completed, the next steps will be to erect the Pre-Engineered Metal Building.
